Salsa Fargo: C&O Canal and Commuter Bike

I bought the Fargo frame about one year ago and have been slowly building it (with a lot of help from the guys at work) with parts I have accumulated over time. Because the disc brakes are hydraulic a “drop” bar could not be used. Jeff Jones builds some very interesting and innovative frames and handlebars so I picked up the Titec version. For comfort I added cork grips (Thanks Grant Peterson). The Brooks saddle is really comfortable and I don’t have to use padded shorts for long rides. The Thudbuster is a very nice addition on gravel and dirt trails. I tried some different racks but the Trek “BackRack” works best. The tires are just a bit of overkill for a street commute but they may have to wait until next spring. My Trek Valencia is a wonderful commute bike but the combination of a steel frame, versatility of being able to run wide tires may make this bike a better choice. Time will tell
