Commuting in Vienna and Oakton

I had a thought after watching this video that if the “3 Foot Rule” (cars should stay 3 feet away from cyclist) was applied to a “3 Mile Rule” (People should ride their bikes or walk if the distance is less than 3 miles) how much less traffic there would be on the main roads every day. My daily commute from home to work is 3 miles and takes about the same time to ride my bike as it does to drive. Walking increases that time to 40 minutes (Ok, I have short legs) so I don’t walk to work but once a week.
